No, I don't think it is implying that. It is implying that the percentage positive should be lower, ie inflated positives over correct amount of negatives.

Yeeeeeeep!

Y'all are awesome for educating people. Thank you!

So I have a lot of juicy details and gossip for you today. It only brings me eeking joy that the truth spilled out like some huge furball hacked up during the time of this WEDSS update.

My entire weekend (16th to the 18th) in the words of several supervisors and the lab director: "We were given a certain set of information through official sources which has proven to be almost entirely incorrect. That data grossly underestimated the impact of this planned outage. We were blindsided. We are doing the best we can to control the chaos but we currently have no ETA on the return of services and reporting functions."

We were told the outage would take approximately 2 hours; It took 24.

People. Lost. Their. Shit.

For the lab-uninitiated, there are certain deadlines and timestamps we must complete (and report) work by... and if we fail to do so, according to national laws enforced by three regulating bodies, it will invalidate an entire specimen and result. It is not always possible to recollect the specimen if a person has gotten better, passed away, or their viral caseload drops below the detectable threshold again. In pathology, this is the equivalent of fucking up an entire tumor. Sometimes there are extra tumors to cut out, but sometimes you only get one shot - ohmygawdnoooooo now that song is gonna be stuck in my head.

Fun Fact: The update quoted by u/unknown-and-alone forced thousands of labs to unintentionally fall out of regulatory standards, indirectly harming patients nationwide. When paired with the frustration of recent events it led to the ousting of two infiltrating government agents (spies for Trump) working in extremely high-level positions at the CDC [Nina Witkofsky, Chester "Trey" Moeller; These names are publically available and I do not condone violence against them].

A White House official told the AP that the pair were placed at the CDC to control its messaging because leaks were "upsetting the apple cart."

Their remit included keeping watch on Redfield and the agency's scientists, CDC officials told the AP.

CDC staff had little warning that the pair were joining. . . adding that no one knew their job titles and that they didn't have assigned offices. "They just showed up on a Monday," the official said.

(The catastrophic failure of the WEDSS system, and every other state system, is their fault... or so the lab rumor goes.)

Almost immediately afterward the botched national update, the famous CDC letter was circulated - then given to the president and his administration. You probably heard about it... but you won't get the WHOLE story you've now been told, because most scientists are ethical people who love and tolerate the shit out of people until they put us in a life-or-death situation which prompts us to finally straighten our spines and say, "Step the fuck back and let us do our job if you don't want to be screeching SHINY AND CHROME for the foreseeable future."

(What can I say? The trope about scientists being nerdy is often true.)

We literally cannot control this dumpster fire you are going to see over the next several weeks because too many laws bind us. Only the government can stop the corruption forcing well-educated people to act entirely unlike themselves. The ASCP wrote a letter in March (which I signed) and within a week the National Emergency was finally declared. Now that the most diehard, resistant boffins at the CDC have admitted their loyalist inaction has allowed this President to bork everything... we can get to work trying to fix America.

This is your last chance, Wisconsin.

Help us so that we can help you. Quid pro quo, Clarice.

Shoo now. Go vote! Thanks for reading.
