I have a 2.5 GPA do I even have a chance of getting into temple

I had a fairly bad gpa when I applied. I think what got me into temple was getting help from a one on one advisor who knows the us college application process and can help you strategize. I started this right around this time my senior year so you’re right where I was. The way she told me how to write my application was very different from the little information they gave me in highschool. She told me over and over that You have to try to max out what you can fit in the character limits on the info sections you’re provided on the common app and other school applications, even for your activities descriptions or whatever. Making your application feel unique, even in the wording of your description for like student government in 10th grade, can make a big difference. Instead of just “9-10th grade, treasurer” saying stuff like “ran the treasury for my student council, helping us organize the first anual fun-run charity event and increasing the student council funds 3 fold during my tenure” obviously this example might not apply to you but anything can work. these little paragraphs youre allotted are all you get to personify yourself in your application and project yourself as a viable candidate who would succeed at Temple or whatever school it is you’re applying to. They’re gonna see a thousand “head of X club, 9th-11th grade”s, so take the space they give you to make yours unique and actually describe some of what that experience meant to you. If some club or group you’re in impacted you, say that. It doesn’t have to be all brag, but in general humanizing yourself and showing how the things you did in highschool have begun to shape you is going to make you look like a student a college will want to have. Otherwise, work hard on your application essay, get it looked over by anyone you can, maybe retake the SAT in October, and if possible try to get your grades up a bit before you graduate. But like others have suggested, there are plenty of options that could have you in Temple and even if it might not be next fall it could be the fall after that. Rushing into college is honestly overrated and If you don’t make it to temple on the same timeline you wanted you might even end up feeling lucky you got a year to adjust to adulthood before adjusting fully to College in a big city. Hope this helps
