A 23-Year-Old Just Schooled Fox News On The Costs Of The Green New Deal. “How did we pay for World War II?” Vandeleuv asked. “At the end of the day when something is this important our economy is going to suffer if we don’t pay for it.”

...But it's very well understood how we paid for WWII. We sold war machines to the Allies for like 4 years before jumping in after getting attacked by Japan. Selling those tanks, guns, planes, etc. put the entire country back to work and got us out of a depression that lasted 8 years. It took a literal world war and half a continent buying our murder machines for 4 years for us to remove our deficit. I think I saw a quote where, when adjusted to todays dollars, it was in the tens of trillions of dollars that got pumped into our economy both before, during and after we joined the war.

Please explain to me how we are going to get a similar level of international support to inject our economy to pay for something as expensive as the GND? This metaphor doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
