3.9.0.0 Update Notes (AGAIN)

Yeah it's not the first time that there has been so much potential for the game to be better but it continues to revert to type. I don't claim to understand why Nelson does these things, but if I had to guess I'd say that he is swayed too easily by the fanbase. All those strawpolls asking people to vote on what they want, what they want to be developed first?

I remember when Devtest was being worked on and 3.0 was in its infancy - there were so many other important things that needed work at that stage but for some reason Nelson added the timberwolf and it was only because of the hordes of kids on the steam page who screamed for a sniper rifle.

It's still happening. Every time I check out the steam forums there is always someone who wants 'OMFG PLZ ADD HELICOPTERS' or 'MOAR GUNZ!' etc. and to be honest it just makes me sad that there is a large section of the fanbase genuinely wants this game to become that. A bland arena shooter calling itself a survival game. Because let's be honest, that's what 2.0 is right now.

I completely understand if Nelson is too busy to do this stuff, but then why set such ambitious targets in the first place?

The future of this game rests in 3.0 without a doubt, as Nelson has refused to update the ant-cheat in 2.0 in order to focus on 3.0, which means that for months now anybody who doesn't have the patience to play a beta (it really should be called alpha since basic game mechanics such as skills are still not properly implemented) is playing a version where hackers have all the power.

I don't like to criticize a developer who is doing it mostly by himself but I don't know of any explanation for these bizarre decisions.
