Most countries that ban guns see gun violence rates plummet immediately and substantially, probably the best example being Australia. Canada has seen success too. Guns are so easy to get here that about half of all guns that end up in the hands of cartels are legally bought and smuggled over the border into Mexico. Make a case for defending ourselves from others and the government if you want, it's a decent argument, but the idea that gun control results in a "small impact" is a massive understatement to how uniquely powerful and utilitarian a tool it is in the battle against gun violence and shootings like these. It's not an and or scenario, they'll slaughter us with institutionalized classism and racism in any case, I just prefer they didn't also have the tools to terrorize us in our churches and synagogues and spas and community centers as well.
