You have had a longer chastity journey then we have and we could probably learn more from you then vise verse. But I can definitely recognize the feelings you are describing regarding having access to the key and logistics and keeping it clean. So will share some of mine thoughts and ideas.

First, have you seen the new HolyTrainer V5? It has a new looking system where you only need the key to unlock but can lock it without the key. I find that locking system very intriguing and will definitely keep an eye on if other manufacturers will make something similar. (But I know that doesn’t solve the situation regarding unlocking when you want to shower)

But the cleaning of your locked up penis does not necessarily have to happen when you want to shower or when it’s convenient for you. But I also used to ask for the key when I wanted to shower. But recently my wife suggested that she would take over the responsibility and task of regular cleaning the cock when in chastity. (And for that I got other tasks on my to do list.) We have only had two chastity periods since. But she has used two different approaches to incorporate the washing in to the chastity fun. She has called me into the bathroom and told me that I now was her bathroom butler and that I should find her towels and in general just make her bathing experience as pleasant as possible. And when she’s nearly finished with her routines she unlocks me and gives me two minutes at the other sink to wash the cage and cock and back on again. But she has also a couple of times washed it while I was still in bed in the morning. Side note, she works as a nurse. And both times she just told me that she does this all the time at work and just did it whiteout much emotion, and without teasing or flirting, just very efficient and talked about something totally different and non sexual. (That was so frustrating.) But maybe try to separate you showering and cleaning everything that’s caged from when the cage and content gets cleaned?
