The Airfare Myth that never dies: cookies and tracking

Airlines need to be more transparent about pricing and the reason for sometimes wild fluctuations. I’ve seen tickets double in price in the 30 seconds I was browsing. Calling customer service they just said “it happens” (literal quote from an AA agent). It would be nice if they could give he customers a better explanation.

Then there are apparent bait and switch situations. I book a flight with a perfect itinerary but then the airline changes it to have terrible layover or arrive hours later etc. Then I see there is a route almost exactly like my original itinerary but it’s hundreds of dollars more.

It’s easy to see why conspiracy theories gain ground.
