All the express nerds who shit on us ground drivers are salty now that they have to do some actual work if they want to work at fedex

My stations managers already spilled the beans. Pretty much the only thing getting merged will be certain types of deliveries. We have very high volume pickups that open after 5pm and dont rts until after 8pm. They’re huge accounts that ground drivers already ignore because they’re not gonna wait around 3 hours. It only slides with those customers now because I can pick up the 15 ground packages everyday on top of the 1400 express packages it takes 3 trucks to fill and a straight truck. Are they really gonna hire 3 drivers on a pay per day basis to completely load up trucks and quickly coordinate with managers when there’s a sudden heavy day that requires an additional box truck to be there within 20 minutes? There’s a lot of FO on those pickups too. Are ground contractors going to be expected to purchase the FO stickers, sensors, and pouches and expect the driver to pair them? I can see how delivery can be consolidated but not pickups.
