Will Fedex come through with the 10 step raise scale this October?

Friday was my last day at FXE. 2 years and 4 months of loyal service as a MH. Never called out, was there every day. I just can't do it anymore.

I worked at a tiny, very understaffed ramp and for the responsibilities I had I felt that I wasn't nearly being paid enough. People being hired off the street were being paid as much as I was. People who stood around and did nothing all night were being paid as much as I was. People who called out whenever were being paid as much as I was.

My ramp was supposed to have 9 MH. We had 3. Still got the jet out on time every night. Our manager (a great guy btw) was grateful but never a word from the higher ups unless we were late. Some nights I was the only driver driving cans from the deck to the loader, then I'd have to run upstairs and help push them into position. We often talked about how getting the jet out late night after night would be the only thing that would get management to make changes, but we couldn't do it. We had a goal to meet and we met it.

Management doesn't give a rats ass and plays dumb. Those waste of time "open mic" sessions are all about the stock price and that ridiculous "Stay Sharp" crap. Any time anyone brings up Compensation the management gets angry.

I'm not sticking around hoping for the big raise only to have another 2%, and then have my insurance premiums go up another $4 a week. I start my new job tomorrow making $2 more an hour, at a transfer station making sure people throw their garbage bags in the right dumpsters. No responsibilities what so ever. No more Lower Deck Load Captain responsibilities. No more doing the work of 4 people. No more walking on egg shells because the TSA decides to drop in for a visit randomly. No more stressing over and trying to figure out why my Genesis is under 100%.

I didn't hate the job. It took me a long time to find something else that I was willing to leave FedEx for. I worked with a great bunch of people.

In my time there we lost a lot of good people. They've been replaced by people who are only there because they couldn't get a job anywhere else. The company is in big trouble long term.
