An Open Letter to Melvin Capital, CNBC, Boomers, and WSB

In 2008 I was in my early 20’s. My oldest sister, grandmother, and grandfather were killed in a car accident on the way to my aunt’s funeral. My father literally lost his sister, parents, and oldest daughter all in 3 days. I watched him struggle to pay for 3 coffins at once which was insane. After that we ended up having to buy some priceless possessions of my grandparents from an estate sale because my grandfather had never officially adopted my father. He had raised my father with my grandmother since my father was 2 years old though. Since there wasn’t a living will everything went to my grandfather’s living relatives, distant nieces and nephews. Not too long after that my father lost our home. It was literally the worst year for our family. I will never forget how hard all of that was.
