any opinions about Bjorn Lomborg? a poster child for effective altruism? an embarrassment?

That's not a refutation of Lomborg... It's about one single subject. I haven't watched the whole video, but I'm assuming it just claims something like "Hurr durr durr, EV's are still not 100% carbon neutral so they're not green even though they're much better than fossil fuel cars, not that I myself can think of a better alternative besides not buying cars, which I purposely never say openly because good luck selling that to people".

JBP put it great in his last talk with Lomborg. Lomborg is actually out there fixing things. He's confronted with thousands of different needs and he realized he can't help everyone. He's forced to prioritize. People who are just concerned about climate change can talk all they want from their computer screen. It's easy to say you should just solve all of humanities problems, when you don't understand the many practical problems. It's easy to criticize what he's doing without providing a better alternative.
