I only write Dick like that (in my FanFiction) if he’s not in a committed relationship. But even then, in my stories, he’s generally only chasing tail and hooking up with people because of a general dissatisfaction with life and because he’s avoiding an emotional conflict relating to something or someone he’s either related to or interested in. And also, in my story, he’s pulling a Bruce and using “hook ups” and hot dates as a cover for vigilante extracurriculars a lot.

That’s just my interpretation though. Like, being a kid superhero with a dad/mentor who can barely emote is gonna lead to some crappy coping mechanisms and to some people, shallow hook ups are that coping mechanism. And a lot of writers really ignore how Dick’s been affected by that. He might be the most emotionally healthy bat-family member (excluding Alfred and maybe Terry McGinnis,) but that’s a low bar
