Anyone here a career locksmith? I have a few questions

I'm a locksmith with 38 years experience, Residential, Commercial, Industrial/Institutional, Office furniture, Safe and vault, Automotive, Antiques, Loss Prevention, Access control, Alarm systems, Correctional Systems. Every day has different challenges, something new to learn. The industry is huge, so it's possible to make a living by specializing in almost any one discipline, or you can immerse yourself in all of them. I've worked on busses, boats, aircraft, printing presses, garbage compactors. I've been invited into the deepest security facilities in private business and government. There's a lot that's mundane and boring(like stamping 1K keys with the company logo, so your ears are ringing) and a lot that's intense, urgent, right away(like a business locked out with 15 employees standing around getting paid while you work to get them in).

Best money is self employed. Working for someone else is severely limiting. I still made C$71K last year.

Locksmithing will always be sustainable, there will always be a need for locks as long as people are dishonest.

Keep your driver's license clean. Losing your license can have an enormous impact on your livelihood.
