My guess, if it happens to be related, comes back to the timeline of the investigation events transpiring recently. Like with the footage that’s been discussed in the news the last few days, and the Elantra stuff only being brought up this past week or so, certain events likely prompt or trigger other individuals to act and check based on that known information.

The gas station and liquor store found evidence further away from the initial perimeter given. The initial tips and surveillance footage likely indicated the Elantra but again, don’t know this. Don’t know what other footage was turned in. If it is related, maybe the person working there or owning it decided to go through the footage.

Very well could have fit a car in there, whether they were allowed to or not. It could have easily gone unnoticed if not being moved in or out regularly. Maybe they even waited a bit to put their car in there. Maybe it was noticed today, storage company reports to LE and LE instructs business advises customer to remove car for breaking rules or LE will get involved, perp shows up and warrant is ready and served. It may be someone they knew about or also may be someone they haven’t considered but is finally connected to all of it.

Could also be the other explanations people suggested. Could be the trailer theft that may have been reported earlier on the log, who knows. I suspect this too as the arrest list hasn’t been updated (common for higher profile cases) but I do feel like stuff starts to snowball a bit, one thing leads to another. Trying to take feelings and hunches out of it, it seems possible and explainable.
