has anyone wondered about the relationship between writing and neural activity?

Don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place! I’ve researched something similar to this topic. It dates back to 1996, when a few other researchers and I recruited 100 fourth graders to find out the importance of working memory for writing skill in children. Our frame work was based on Flower and Haye’s cognitive process theory of writing, which concludes that the “skilled writer must have flexible access to a wide range of mental representations of actual and intended text” (1996, p361). This is also why we were inspired to investigate the importance of working memory. If you think my research question answers part of your inquiry, I’ll detail my methodology down below.
