Arab-American News: We endorse Bernie Sanders

I know exactly what you are saying and quiet frankly you aren't in Iran and KSA. These countries aren't specifically targeting gays either. They punish adulterous and sometimes premarital relationships the same way. This isn't an excuse for the gay thing but gays don't have some special punishment, neither do women... It's the same across the board for all genders... Which is why it really sounds weird when you folks use the western cultural pointers of hay rights and women's rights talking points.

You say the law is equal for everybody in France but it isn't... France's officials were begging the Jewish community to accept the yamaca ban in order to justify the hijab and burka ban.

Not to mention the burka ban targets specifically Muslims. Hate speech against Jews is not allowed but it is against Muslims.

You also understand that there are some misguided Muslims who will support ISIS and in the west these folks are arrested. So much for freedom of expression. Yup, these are citizens of western nations being arrested charged and thrown in to terrorist cells for supporting something that their own country doesn't like.

These countries don't follow secularism. You want them to follow secularism. They don't have the same issues and history as the western world has with religion. Not to mention the west continuously butting into their countries really doesn't give them a chance to explore sociology. For a 1000 plus years they have lived with out borders part of an empire. The west breaks up that empire and instill nationalism in them. Dividing up people who lived in harmony with other people. Divide and conquer as they say... So while the west has been able to explore secularism with out foreign interventionism, these nations new to the game are expected to come to the sane sociological results as the west. While the western world is involved in their countries assassinations, propping up regimes, destroying legitimate governments. Taliban, ISIS, Iranian Shah and Khomeini, Saddam, Gaddafi, Husni Mubarak... All these people and their lives are testament of western interventionism.

I find your train of thought highly problematic... With you it isn't an objective measure of what you think is right or wrong... Your train of thought is well if it benifits me... It would be good.

Btw it maybe socially unacceptable in some of the Muslim countries to be gay, but it isn't punishable. The punishment is for adulterous or premarital fornication, that too if you're caught in the act. You could stand at a center square and abniunce you are gay... And no one would arrest you... Because while you are gay, you haven't been caught in the act. You see how this works... While in the west, you could be an activist and you never know when you get arrested. You should think that is problematic.

Your personal views on Burka are not of any concern to me. What concerning is that if a woman chooses to wear burka in public, she is fined. This law marginalizes Muslim and specifically women. What ever happened to you actually caring about rights of women... Or is it that, when it's a Muslim woman... Her rights under secularism can be taken away...
