It makes me laugh seeing Sony go on and on about how the PS4 Pro is totally gonna compete in the PC market. While they attempt to convince me that it's totally worth investing $1,000+ into the 4K HDR TV to make their $400 console remotely beneficial (since they seem to be actively discouraging the use of its extra power to improve performance), I'll just be sitting over here on my 3 year old PC that still walks all over the Pro while offering features it can't even dream of providing to boot. Sony doesn't get it; they think my PC is their competition when the reality is they can't compete with it. Nintendo, in complete contrast, gets it. They understand that I don't give a fuck about which "not-PC" can laughably flaunt its subpar muscles the most vainly. They understand that I'm in a different market from a PS4 or Xbox One buyer. And they understand that holding games hostage for no good reason isn't the way to earn my money. They get that if I want to play a PC, I'm playing my PC, not a half-assed excuse for one. They get it; they're making a console; they're making something I actually want to use! They understand that all I truly want is to be allowed to play games and not have cut-throat industry bullshit get in the way of doing that. They realize that I'm a gamer and I just want to play video games. The Nintendo Switch is the most exciting console I think I've ever seen come out of the games industry, because it's a fucking console; no bullshit, no pointless dick measuring, no intrusive gimmicks; just me, my Switch, and my games. That's what a console should be! Take one guess which company is getting my money.
