Ritalin vs Adderall xr

Ritalin and Adderall are completely different. One is methylphenidate in the form of Ritalin, and Concerta. Ir to xr basically. Adderall is an amphetamine based medication, both in it's ir, and xr formulas. Amphetamines are very potent cns stimulants, similar to, but not the same as methamphetamines. Concerta, and Ritalin are a weaker variant of cns stimulants that were popularized decades ago.

Adderall is a mixture of amphetamine salts. Mainly Dextro-amphetamine which comes in the form of a medication known as dexadrine, an IR, and Vyvanse, an XR. And, levo-amphetamine. Amphetamines are a weaker substitute to greater, more potent cns stimulants, but are potent enough to alleviate ADHD symptoms.

To give you an example... Someone with CHF, otherwise known as congestive heart failure can take ritalin, or concerta. People with heart failure have to be examined by a cardiologist to get approval for the use of Adderall, or Dexedrine in both IR, and XR formulas because of it's effects on the cardiovascular, and central nervous system.

15 mgs is a trial dose. That's all. It's equivalent to 7.5 mgs of one ir taken twice daily.

I worked my way up from 10 mgs Adderall xr, to 40 mgs xr over a year. I've been on the medication a total of 3 years.

Make no mistake, 20 mgs of an ir has the potential to give you "high" like side effects such as euphoria, where Ritalin or Concerta will not. Amphetamines are a potent medication.

For comparison, Desoxyn is a methamphetamine based medication legal in the U.S. It's generic name is the same as it's chemical name. Methamphetamine hydrochloride. It's the third step up from amphetamines. Amphetamines being the second step up from non-amphetamines.
