Why are prisons in Norway basically recreational centers?

I don't believe in the death penalty. For a whole mess of reasons about cost and effectiveness.

I don't believe for cost or ethics in rest of life jail for rapists either.

I have seen the evidence that too harsh sentences (ie life) for rapists makes them more likely to kill their rape victims so there are no witnesses.

So, if treating them well and rehabilitating them, with the intent of releasing means that they are less likely to reoffend (and the stats back that up) or murder their rape victims (and the stats also back that up) then yes, yes I do.

I have no empathy for rapists. It's a harsh logic I look at the justice system with and rehabilitation is simply the best all round solution.

My goal is lessen crime and the impact of victims. What is yours?
