Are there any reputable agents / managers lurking on here? I'm a working class actor and I just hit my 160th audition for tv/film, I'm just looking for feedback on my situation

yeah but if you can't get an agent in LA, they are better than nothing, at least casting starts to see your face in their submissions. my no-name regional reps have gotten me significant auditions.

lol I am actually planning on starting a career in commercial real estate, as my longterm escape from waiting tables. self tapes don't take up enough of my time to warrant the opportunity cost going forward, not when I can squeeze them in when it's convenient for me.

you gotta start somewhere. getting a reputable agent in LA is really really difficult if you aren't young and hot, graduate from an expensive reputable acting program with a solid showcase, or have the ability to somehow survive in LA and pay for expensive classes for years and years. NYC, in my opinion, is much easier to be poor in. i think the way in / best market to get your foot in the door is different for each actor and you really don't know if you don't try. I tried LA, no halfway decent agent wanted anything to do with me and I found it really tough to even make the kind of money waiting tables to afford COL where as in NYC you can throw a rock and hit a restaurant that pays $75k+ for waiting tables 4 nights a week.

at this point, the only thing i'm doing is just doing my tapes when i get them from my reps. nothing else seems to be worth the time / energy / money at this point.

once i start booking, maybe i can reach out to better reps & pay for another expensive acting class.
