I've only tried the PA+++ version, but ime, I have not found an alcohol-free sunscreen that is as nice as an alcohol-heavy one. (I guess the alcohol helps things absorb quickly?)

I recently got the Missha essence ss (pink tube with silver cap) and it is nice. Slightly sunscreen-y smell and feel. Very moist and dewy. Difficult to wear for an oily person, even if dehydrated (I guess I could try no separate moisturizer?). Doesn't really absorb imo, unless you only put on a thin layer, which defeats the whole purpose. It was nice for cold, dry weather but even then it kind of disrupted my makeup. Again, I do have oilier skin, not super dry skin that might have soaked up all the moisture.

I've tried Sun Bears and Sunplay as well. Very similar, though I believe Sun Bears was a bit thinner. Felt heavy on my skin after using alcohol-laden ss for so long, but they're not actually all that bad. Takes a few to sink in but even then, they're not unnoticeable. A bit uncomfortable in humid summers but workable. Sunkiller Perfect Strong Moisture is heavier and very plush-y feeling. I like it because it makes a great, smooth base and plays very well with my silicone-heavy bb cream. Again, not my favorite in the summer.

Canmake's mermaid ss is another popular alcohol-free option which I want to try out. I haven't given the other Misshas a go because I feel like the reviews are quite mixed and some seem to have a good amount of physical ss, which isn't very cosmetically elegant.

One thing you can try is a heavier moisturizer underneath. I like this method because the drying alcohol is kind of buffered by the extra moisture, but sometimes it takes a bit of testing to work out. Especially for dehydrated skin, I think a nice occlusive moisturizer does well under an alcohol-heavy sunscreen.
