Atomic swaps directly from Ledger Live?

Hi, SWFT Blockchain here! We are a cross-chain wallet & exchange platform and payments network. We partnered with Ledger to keep our user’s funds safer using Ledger Vault and to add SWFT Blockchain as an option for swaps on Ledger Live. Cointelegraph took some ‘creative liberties’ with our joint press release and reported on atomic swaps being integrated on Ledger.

While our partnership includes adding a link to SWFT Blockchain’s swaps to Ledger Live, Ledger Live is not actually integrating our service (as other wallets have done).

Also, it is still unclear what qualifies as an atomic swap. Technologically speaking, it involves a direct swap that takes place on-chain on two different chains at the same time. However, from a financial perspective, an argument could be made that any direct crypto trade that doesn’t involve going through multiple exchanges’ trading pairs could be an atomic swap. In this instance, our swaps would fit the ‘atomic’ definition. The fact that Cointelegraph considered our swaps as ‘atomic’ only proves that there is uncertainty in the actual definition of ‘atomic swaps’

All this to say, SWFT Blockchain and the Ledger team have made Cointelegraph aware of some of the inaccuracies in the article and we hope they correct them soon.
