I completely agree with you, however I don’t think it’s that simple. Don’t like it, don’t use it, I get it. I don’t think TikTok or any similar app has to be banned. It makes people happy and that’s a beautiful thing. I had family members genuinely having a good time making TikToks for Christmas just yesterday, it makes me incredibly happy that people can find ways to enjoy themselves in life. However, I do think change needs to happen for the sake of the people. It may sound ridiculous, but modern humanity is technology, and I personally don’t like the route we are heading with it. If TikTok was to get banned, it could easily get replaced. If Reddit was to get banned, it could easily get replaced. They aren’t banning the idea. Me personally, I am willing to temporarily lose these apps if it means raising awareness for an issue that effects every single user of the internet and our future as humans. And no, on paper it shouldn’t have to be banned to achieve the stuff I’m talking about, but few care about this. They should, in my opinion.
