Anime:>! The characters are brought more to life through the efforts of the studio and their respective voice actors. However, some points both important and unimportant to the characters themselves are sometimes omitted or portrayed differently through the adaptation. Overall, the anime stays relatively faithful and -in my opinion - is a well acomplished adaptation.!<

Manga: Introspective thoughts are the main loss from the anime version that the manga source covers. There are certain facial expressions as well that are simply better presented through the manga. However, the most prudent difference is the sheer amount of depth and exposition the manga can provide that the anime adaptation either loosely implies or misses outright. Simply put, the manga is more thorough and expository whereas the anime expresses life into the characters while staying relatively faithful.
