I believe that one should have the right to end their own life at any given time. TMBR!

So what about my situation. External forces are certainly an issue for me. Medical treatments exist and I can live, doped up on painkillers... there's plenty I wish I had done too, I just know I won't get to. So how would you react to that. Is it wrong or right for me? (Please note: I do not intend to commit suicide for many years yet, I am not asking for endorsements, I'm asking for the intrinsic curiosity of the debate... and either answer is fine).

This isn't a debate, it stopped being a debate when you assumed my tone was condescending. You continued to call me naive for thinking things work out when I never made that claim at all. You use examples of countries where people do actively fight the government. Stop with the millions of people die shit, guess what if they fight millions die if they don't fight millions die. Dying is as natural as breathing.

You don't have ANY rights just for being human

Wrong, just think about it and look it up. I wasn't given any of my basic human rights. Using other countries as an example is foolish because those are great examples of where the human rights were taken from people.

The government and police can take that right away from you. So yes there is something someone can do to stop you expressing yourself... and killing you isn't it. Acting like the big "I am" and pretending you'd give your life is weak. You wouldn't. It's all bravado and this kind of dishonest thinking gets in the way of genuine debate, especially when we're talking about morality or philosophy; topics easily changed by ego.

You clearly want to have an argument and cannot actually think that the way you read something is not how I wrote it. For example when I stated "Nothing you do short of a criminal act can take that right from me. In order to stop me from expression you would have to kill me. So yes technically you can illegally take basic human rights away, but you cannot do it legally." I wasn't making some ridiculous claim that I would lay my life down. You interpreted it that way and that's on you, when I wrote it and now when I go back and read it I read it as "In order to take a person's freedom of expression you would have to kill them for as long as they breath and can speak or move they can express themselves." To make such claims about someone you know nothing of is actually a very bold move, I could very well have the kind of career that does involve protecting those freedoms and it could even have death as a consequence to being in that career.

Now, maybe you're thinking, "well, that's China; what about here". OK, let's use USA as an example. Try to go to an American university and voice a conservative or libertarian opinion. Speak out against feminism, complain about affirmative action etc. and see how far you get. Most universities specifically have rules in place to stop you voicing those opinions and have designated "Free Speech Zone", because they fail to grasp that the entirety of USA is a fucking free speech zone. Have a protest, or hang a poster, or ask people to sign a petition that doesn't meet the current populist "progressive" political narrative and you'll be moved on, campus security will remove you, police can get involved, and your place in that university will be taken from you. That's only one example of one right... there's a lot more.

Multiple sources needed to confirm. This is the story that gets pushed around SM but it isn't true, yeah you might be bitched at you might have to request a permit to protest you might get made fun of or fucked with but you still have the right to do it. Fining me doesn't stop me from expressing myself.

I agree the charges should probably be dropped, (depending on details). I get the impression we agree for the most part but our view of human rights has become a far more interesting discussion for me, as there we clearly have a very different interpretation.

I do not find it an interesting discussion, there is no discussion to be had. There is no question about human rights, no discussion to be had, none. you have them at birth, by your mere existence you have basic human rights. Yes there are a great number of people that have had those rights illegally and immorally stripped from them. Regardless of their nations law or any man made law. The law of what the fuck ever nature decrees I have the right to expression, I am not going to sit here and pretend my government or any government is doing anyone a favor by NOT taking their rights away. So yeah people in China can't bad mouth their GOV, guess what people in China are slowly starting to fight that battle. It isn't an easy process or a quick one but I remember this group of people that left their country to go start their own because they didn't enjoy the tyranny of evil men, when they came knocking wanting the new country to be theirs they told them kindly, no thank you and fought a bloody war to oppose said tyranny. Yes people died, lots of people but I think you will find that through that conflict the world became better over time or you can play some more fuck fuck games either way I don't care.

As to your question about whether you should kill yourself or not. I don't care. Initially i thought wow what a reasonable person than you went all deep end making accusations about what experiences I have had in life and whether or not I lived in oppression or whether I had ever done anything to help others overcome it. It would be foolish to speak on the matter if you had no experience in it right? Kind of how it may be foolish for you to assume anything of my life having you know not experienced it firsthand. So tomorrow morning I will wake up, eventually I will get onto reddit where I will delete my comment history from the prior day. Hopefully this reaches you in time before I delete it. I want you to know that I am indifferent to you killing yourself or not. I got two sentences into your personal story before I felt the distaste for your story, you make the argument about millions dying because of injustices around the world then proceed to tell me how you were suicidal in May 2015 and technically by your own admission still intend to kill yourself later. Yes tell me how bad it must be for you. I find it equally wrong and right for you to kill yourself because it isn't my place to make that determination. But best of luck with whatever you decide.
