Better Globalist experience (for 2-week Feb 2023 honeymoon) in Hawaii or Costa Rica?

Congrats on the honeymoon.

I would highly recommend Hawaii over Costa Rica. First, papagayo was a category 4 until recently. Second it’s so close to you, you can go whenever. Third, it’s very windy. The beaches are often too windy to use with sand blowing everywhere or the waves too choppy for the boats to run. Costa Rica is nice, hot weather, beautiful nature, nice pools, nice sun.. sea temperature is good too. But I wouldn’t consider it a good honeymoon luxury relax by the beach type vacation. It’s more on the wildnesses/nature/hiking end no matter how you put it. You can do CR regularly for 5-7 days at a time whenever you want in the future IMO. As a globalist you’re not gonna get suites without using an upgrade cert 8 months+ in advance. They’re always booked out. They have business retreat corpo groups there. Not a honeymoon vibe. You might be able to pay into a premium suite that isn’t worth it IMO. CR dry season is extremely dry and they have fires to control the brush. Not a rain forest environment.

Hawaii is much more of a luxurious relaxed environment. I would recommend Hawaii 100x over for a honeymoon. It’s US. Easy cell access. More relaxed pace. Globalist breakfast is okay. Food costs are high but everyone goes to costco anyways right away to stock up. Haleakala sunrise in Maui was amazing. You drive up most of it but still wonderful.

An alternative is.. One itinerary I saw frequently, including by same sex couples was a multi city to Dubai and Maldives. Lots of people visit Al-Maha and then head forward to Maldives for the rest of their honeymoon. Or others do Singapore and then Maldives. But doesn’t quite have the beach/mountain mix.

Hope this helps
