Bitcoin energy usage IS a problem, and the crypto space would only benefit if everyone admitted that.

And is less secure.

Coins need to be in hot wallets to stake, game theory encourages stalkers to DDoS each other to encourage slashing of potential competitors, PoS rewards whales with market share while punishing smaller holders (to say nothing of disincentivizing user participation after the consensus algorithm change...

But the MOST IMPORTANT difference between PoW and PoS is that the former is open and permissionless, and the latter is closed and permissioned (after the consensus change).

I could go on. Like how all nodes will eventually need to sync with a master node, resulting in increased centralization, the fact that a self referencing blockchain becomes exorbitantly large, and the fact that the Ethereum Foundation essentially dictates development (and owns an overwhelming % of coins) so it has become de facto centralized, but I digress.

Honestly, I hope it works out for them (what’s good for the goose is good for the gander), but this has disaster written all over it.

Oh. And their garbage coin is not immutable. Anyone here remember the DAO hack? This is so stupid.

ETH is a meme coin. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
