Brexit Caricature by Bruce MacKinnon

Re-evaluating its usefulness should be mandatory every 50 years. It is no longer about co-operation, it has grown into some socialist experiment gone horribly wrong.

Well, luckily you don't have to wait 50 years. In fact, it happens every 5 years, with the EP elections. It's just like a national parliament: you don't have to wait 50 years to re-evaluate your constitution or other laws.

lso democracy is not really something EU does, and MEPs can only slightly affect the decisions that are made by EU's true permanent leaders who are not elected nor ever under re-election.

This reveals to me that you don't actually understand how decision making in the EU works. Humour me, who do you think decides things in the EU?

All the officials and comissars wield true power in EU.

Yep, that's the executive. I'm curious, in which country do you live in where the executive is elected by the people? I'm not aware of any country in Europe.

What usually happens is that the national ministers are confirmed by an democratically elected body, the the national parliament. In the same manner european commissioners are confirmed by the european parliament. The national ministers are usually nominated by the winning political party, while the commissioners are nominated by the national governments (who themselves are elected democratically). After an national election new national ministers are chosen. After european parliament election new european commissioners are chosen. The term length of a commissioner corresonds exactly to that of national government ministers. Saying that they are not "up for re-election" is as idiotic as saying that national governments are undemocratic because the ministers are also not up for re-election.

Basically, the only difference between how commissioners and national ministers are chosen is who does the nomination: the (possibly unelected) leadership of the winning political parties, or the democratically elected heads of states.

Watch as the officials will punish UK against our will, to strike fear into us.

Ah, a Brit. Are you not at all concerned by the fact that you apparently did not bother actually checking how the EU works, instead just relying on how you think it works?
