Brexit protest around Buckingham Palace.

when it's clear that the majority of the British actually voted to leave.

I have some retorts to this.

  • 51.9% leave, 48.1% remain - That's a pretty small difference to call a majority for me.[1]

  • Young people, en mass, don't vote. Everybody knows it, especially politicians. in the 18-24 bracket, 70% were remain.25-49 were at 56%. But.. guess who always vote? The 55-60+ category. So when you say "the clear majority of the British", what is actually the correct phrasing is, "the majority of the voters".[2]

So I always find it kinda disheartening when people are like "Well, Brits hate the EU so...", which is not the case at all. And even more weirdly, you think majority of people who voted for Brexit are on Reddit, Facebook, YouTube? They're not.

I truly hope the EU manage to get memberships rights for British Citizens. I would happily pay [x amount] for membership.
