[Broken Chains] Ultimate Consultation Thread

As others have pointed out, the biggest issue here is your Roaming Warrior selection. Edea's Inaugural Parade or Kefka's Magic Infusion would have made the battle much easier for you.

I'm going to list down some general things to note for damage output in Ultimate(+) fights.

  1. You generally need some form of Boostga or Faithga for these fights unless you're swimming in 6* and 7* gears. Damage output is too low for without them.
  2. Hastega will also help immensely i.e. reduce the amount of S/L needed as it will increase your DPS. This will help kill the boss more quickly and reduce the amount of damage taken.
  3. Which is why Boostga + Hastega are highly coveted right now. Unless you have your own native ones, they are the to go to Roaming Warriors.
  4. To optimise the gains, people tend to bring either a Mage-heavy or Physical-heavy party. Physical-heavy parties are favoured right now because Boostga (Shout = +50% ATK) has a higher increment than Faithga (Inaugural Parade & Magic Infusion = +20% MAG), and because ATK has a lower soft-cap than MAG (590 v.s. 742). Ultimately which party you go for depends on what RNG blesses you with.
  5. You want at least 10 ability uses for each character, this assumes they'll be on Roaming Warrior duty or have useful SBs to use in battle. If not, aim for 12 ability uses. This is so that you won't run out of abilities to use in battles. You could always use the Attack command, but that's something one should try to avoid when each action taken should not be wasted. I'm adding this because your Tyro only has 8 ability uses. Moreover, one of them (Protectga) is not spam-able. Thus, he'll end up having to use the Attack command which deals less damage had his other skill has more hones, generates less SB gauge, and ends up taking longer to get his next SG up.

Something not related solely to Ultimate fights but relevant as well is RM selection. I'm assuming you're still a fairly new player with limited RM choices as the RM selection you have there is not really optimal.

In general, +ATK and +MAG RMs boosts more damage than +DMG RMs when you're below soft-cap. In this case, Cloud is clearly below soft-cap (unlikely to hit soft-cap without any Boostga). Hence you're going to deal more damage with +ATK RMs. Exception is when you're hitting damage cap, which is highly likely when you're hitting weaknesses using spellblades with ATK near soft-cap. In that situation, equipping a dual-cast RM would be better. The same can be said for Rinoa and Quistis.

Hope all these information would help you plan better for the upcoming Ultimate(+) fights.
