The Bumble Bee Road Murders: a couple found dead, mysterious camera photos, and a still open investigation.

I did a hike there a few years ago and there were three hikers I'd occasionally hike with, one male, two female. The guy was on his own but the girls were hiking partners and went everywhere together. The dude was quiet but seemed friendly enough, though I didn't know him as well as I did the girls, who I hiked with quite a lot. I considered them friends, but the guy just an acquaintance.

Anyway, I got pulled into the vortex and ended up doing a lengthy work-for-stay at a hostel as the girls moved on up the trail, and so did the guy. The girls came back a couple of days later in distress and told us that this guy was a creeper and after he'd been alone with them for a while, he started ranting about how the trail wasn't what he'd expected because he was supposed to be able to find a girlfriend there and no girls appreciated a "nice" guy anymore. He started throwing things around the camp and punching the shelter walls and generally letting it be known that he was furious with the girls because neither of them would "date" him. I shudder to think what would happen if this POS had found a young woman all by herself.

I met some oddballs out there (meaning not in the good way) but that guy was the absolute WORST. Arrangements were made to get the girls further up the trail far away from him (he was following them back to the hostel, you see) and the hostel owner contacted every hostel in the area with his trail name to let them know he shouldn't be welcome as he treats women this way. When he got to the hostel the next day, we just couldn't be of any help to him when he asked where they went. We told him they never showed up there.
