So, I bought dark souls 1 on steam years ago and let me tell you. It fucking sucks.

It sucks dicks, so many dicks. Like an avalanche of unplayable, unsuckable dicks.

I vomited the disgusting smegma filled cum that Dark Souls 1 PC had drizzled into the back of my throat and put it out of my life for years.

I heard dark souls 3 was coming out and all the praise and hype it was getting. I have some free time so I thought I'd give Dark Souls another chance. Maybe it's not as bad as I remember. It was. But it was that bad because of the PC port. Now that it's been out for years the community has fixed it dramatically.

I find some steam guides on how to make the port playable. I needed a mod to let me use my mouse, I needed to change game files to let me play in full screen, to remove the FPS lock, to change the resolution, to change the keybindings, and just make the shitty port actually playable.

After all that, Dark Souls 1 was fucking amazing and I love it. I've heard about the game but I didn't really know much about it. Exploring that world for the first time was something else. I loved the subtle plot that I had to piece together and discover. And it had to have the most intricate level design I've ever seen in a game. Everything felt so interconnected. I would open a door or climb a ladder or ride an elevator and see a familiar area and just have a 'holy shit' moment.

I've heard the game was hard but it's really not that bad, it's just unforgiving. And it ramps up in difficulty really well. I'd have to lose to a mob of enemies a dozen times before finally figuring out how to kill them, and then they'd be like slicing butter in every encounter after that.

Anyway, I blew through darksouls 1 and hopped right into darksouls 3. God damn it man, I wish the awful PC port hadn't turned me away when I first tried it. I could have had this in my life this whole time.
