Can a bad player learn and break 2k?

I don't think I'm very intelligent, but I'm a very very competitive person. In every game I played so far I made it close to the 1%, be it Poker,Sc2 or League of Legends. A friend of mine dubbed me "the worst Sc2-Player to ever make into high Masters".

Don't let people tell you what you can and can not do, it's all about practice and learning how to analyze properly. It's about putting in work and not talent, talent gets you only so far and sure at some point you might hit the "talentwall" but 2k is far away from that.

A bit storytime about the importance of workethic:

I probably had some talent for chess, but ohh boy did I lack the workethic. I was around 1900-2000 when I was 16, which wasn't reflected in my elo. There is a lot of funny stories about me in chess, I was used as a "Joker" in my adult team. It sounds absolutely stupid, what could a "Joker" be like in chess ? Well, my first problem was that I didn't know any openings(like 1-2) and usually was in a world of pain after the opening and my second problem was that I did tend to play on the same level as my opponent. In the youth season I regulary lost games that cost me 40 DWZ(German Elo and as far as I know max you can lose in one game).

Now, one of the last games of the adult season, I don't remember the exact circumstances, but the Board 1 of the opponent team was far above the strength of everyone else and they decided to put me on Board 1, because on a good day I could take her. I almost beat her, I was +3 on a chessengine but ended up not seeing a mate in ~10.
