Can San Francisco Support a NASL team?

San Francisco can support a NASL team but it won't. I've said it once and I'll say it again, this team does not have a clear path to making it happen other than the pipe dream they keep promoting.

SF likes pro teams, not minor league teams. QuakesEpicenter did a great job pointing that out.

No one in the teams board has any political power to make any of these pipe dreams happen.

You will never get the community on your side to allow Kezar to house a semi pro or pro team. The community was sick of the Niners being there and have made it clear over the years they don't want the crowds back at all.

There isn't a sound plan announced by the team to house a stadium anywhere else in San Francisco. The Warriors legitimately locked up the last stadium location for any team in the City as the Giants are planning a park and housing in the space available near them.

The group owning the team does not have the money to fix the pier that the Warriors wanted and then build a stadium. Oracle pretty much ruined anyone's chances of doing another project like that anyway with the boat teams failed project.

There is no interested fan base in SF right now. Youth is focused on getting to college and playing pro in whatever form, current adults are all bought into a sport or another MLS/EPL/whatever team that is established.

This squad is expecting way too much without a plan and I haven't had a single person tell me otherwise. I've asked countless times on Facebook, here and Twitter. Show us what your plan is if you say an NASL team can work, show us how you can get into the MLS.

I'm sure there are natives who have bought into the team, good for them, but which of them is going to be realistic about San Franfisco and tell the rest of you lot that the approach you've had to making a sports team happen in SF is all wrong? You think someone who was around the SJ Quakes days before they moved to Houston has the answers? Because they didn't have the answers when the team moved and still didn't when the team came back. If it wasn't for the current owners of the Quakes who had the money, political power and muscle to make shit happened, the Quakes would be dead too.
