Can Someone Help Me With Shortened Versions of Words?

Just FYI this question is fine in /r/Spanish too. This subreddit is more for folks having problems with their homeworks, projects, etc.

Anyway, for starters, university/college names are usually "acronymized" (is that a word?) in Spanish, and this shortens the whole thing to a few letters, much like in English (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México→UNAM; University of California, Los Angeles→UCLA).

According to its Wikipedia page, it can be abbreviated to UNALM, which solves your problem right away.

If you need a little more clarity, in case there's not much context that "ties" the acronym to a university in Peru, you may want to resort to abbreviations for each word.

  • Universidad = Univ.
  • Nacional = Nac.
  • Agrícola = Agr. / Agríc. [this one doesn't really have an abbreviated form]
  • La Molina = La Molina [it feels weird to abbreviate this]

So we have

  • UNIV NAC AGR LA MOLINA = 22 chars
  • UNIV. NAC. AGR. LA MOLINA = 25 chars
