Canadian moving to Utah for work - any suggestions would be much appreciated!

It looks like I was originally uninformed and this is not a lawsuit but a loss of contract. however what I said still stands. Back to what you want.

Heya! sorry try not to lurk to hard here. So... Let me preface this with this first. I AM NOT AN AGENT, or an authority on this subject. (Random code monkey) I know of this because building and selling homes is part of the family biz. (shameless plug if asked for).

I started writing this out, but I figured a link to an actual description of what would be better.

Preface: Realtors collect data about homes they have been contracted to sell, then enter that data (photos, land information, square footage) into a central database. They are all part of an Salt Lake Realtors Association and collectively own this data as far as I understand. http://slrealtors.com/

This association has been selling a licence to access this data to third parties. (Zillow, ZipRealty, Redfin). The problem is that data has been taken and used to monetize advertisements to the highest bidding realtors; creating a feedback loop that devalues the action of collecting said data.

So, collectively they have decided to stop sharing.

"Which brings us back to the present state of Zillow. They can’t get new information, but they still have agents buying adds on their site. What would you do? They certainly don’t want to give any money back or lose future income, so they have started showing REALLY old data that they still own"
