Remember to connect your antenna when you have power to your VTX or better yet you may be able to unplug it. It's normal that a motor may not flick at startup but not having any resistance when manually turning is something that I've not heard of so you might want to ask somebody else for that. The 5 startup beeps are normal though. As for your problems, when you go to the motors tab in BF do you remember to click the switch next to the warning message (props OFF) before raising the motors? To get input from your transmitter I believe you'll have to have either UART 2 or 3 set to Serial RX in the port tab, as well as choosing "serial based receiver" with SBUS in the configuration tab.
