There is a few of things to talk about in your post first though. First, pitchers do pitch differently with runners on. Situationally of course but there are differences in pitch selections. Pitchers dont just hurl the ball as hard as they can. Baseball is a chess game in many ways.

Second, 10th in home runs is actually a huge issue for this team. We were 4th in the league in home runs for a long time and have significantly slowed down. That is where a huge chunk of our offensive production has gone. Franmil and Renfroe have slowed down quite a bit.

Third, I hate to be the person who says this but its really only 3 stars in our line up and 1 of those doesnt rely on the home run. Stars arent always home run hitters.

A big chunk of it comes down to looking at Renfroe and Reyes and asking which we want to keep going forward. They are almost exactly the same bat(for now.) Both are power hitters that rarely get on base and struggle with runners on. Both are sub .200 RISP this season. That's the biggest problem dead smack in the heart of our line up.
