On Thursday morning the agents of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau entered 30 places throughout Poland. This is due to a land reclamation affair. In connection with this case, activities were carried out, among others, at the headquarters of the Polish Football Association and 16 provincial soccer associations. "The officers of the Szczecin's delegation of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau conduct proceedings in one of the threads in the so-called land reclamation affair. In connection with this case, about 100 officers of the Office in almost 30 locations across the country secure extensive evidence, including numerous electronic data carriers, which will soon be analyzed by investigators. The execution of the activities includes, among others, the seat of the Polish Football Association, 16 provincial soccer associations, and a number of places of residence of natural persons and seats of entities". - has been communicated to the CBA in a communication.
The officers of the CBA entered the headquarters of the Polish Football Association and the provincial associations at the order of the West Pomeranian Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin. The case is related to a land reclamation affair, in which the prosecutor's office already filed a bill of indictment on 3 July this year. The main suspect is Stanisław Gawłowski, former secretary general of the Civic Platform.
The searches were carried out not only in the headquarters of the Polish Football Association and regional associations, but also in the Municipal Office in Koszalin, in the offices of private companies and several places of residence of natural persons. In the course of the activities, extensive documentation was secured, including in electronic form, which will be subject to detailed analysis. According to the portal Niezalezna.pl, CBA agents also entered the headquarters of Mikrotel company, headed by its brother Zbigniew Boniek.
One of the threads of the land reclamation scandal are financial irregularities in the activity of All Sports Promotion Foundation, acting on behalf of AZS Koszalin S.A. Seven people have already been detained in this case and have heard allegations of so-called money laundering. Six detainees have been accused of committing fraud with respect to property of significant value. Among the detainees were the president of the foundation Łukasz B. and the legal adviser and tax advisor Michał D. The prosecutor applied preventive measures against the suspects.
As the National Prosecutor's Office adds, new evidence was collected during the investigation, which justified carrying out searches to secure the documentation, including that of the Polish Football Association, which will be analysed in detail. Prosecutors do not exclude further arrests in this case.
Earlier in the course of the proceedings the prosecutor's office established that the foundation had signed contracts for the provision of advertising services with Zakłady Chemiczne in 2011-2013. After analysis of the documents, it was confirmed that some of the funds did not go to AZS Koszalin S.A., but were transferred to the account of another foundation, and then transferred to the company and paid by its shareholders. As a result, the property was disposed of by Zakłady Chemiczne in the amount of about PLN 2 million.
