They haven't officially left the band, but have decided to focus on their project of the day. That's fine since all of us are involved with other projects as well. Just that this one was the highest profile one. They said they'll play a gig under the main band as one comes up. Therefore, the rest of us are going to focus our main energies on a new project as well.

It's complicated, but the singer came up with the name and holds passwords to all social media accounts and a lot of the photos and media. As this was his specialty area, we had let him handle it. I had tried to get him to share the info over the years, but always got delayed.

We're all on good terms so it's better to play nice and avoid conflict and assume that no one has rights to take over the old name. Its got some minor recognition only, but certainly not enough to get in a big hassle over. They used a new name for their project, so we'll do the same.
