I think it's easier to get a replacement than a refund though. I had a brand new $950 graphics card stolen from my porch and I was worried about re-ordering through amazon and having it happen again.

When I called to confirm it was in fact delivered, they said if I wanted a replacement shipped it would be sent right away. Otherwise I'd have to file a police report and give them the report number.

I hadn't done any of that yet because I thought maybe the tracking was incorrect so I took the replacement and I got it 2 days later.

Turns out my neighbor had seen it sitting on my doorstep and brought it inside to their house so it wouldn't get stolen, and forgot about it... Either way I shipped the second back and it was all good but yeah I think it's harder to get a refund than replacement, oddly enough, considering the replacement is a 100% loss, the refund would just be a lost sale...
