Thanks for such an informative reply! I was wondering where you get your slippery elm from? I recently bought some from Starwest Botanicals but it didn’t become really slippery and even made me feel clogged up and consiptated. I want to be certain it wasn’t because it was bad quality SE that I had issues.

I do not have IBS but severe gut dybiosis. Diet really helps me but it’s very tough doing it long term because I now have a very hard time digesting most protein food sources (meat, fish, beans, lentils, eggs), grains and even really soft foods. Digestive enzymes and betaine hcl did nothing but irritate my stomach but oddly enough ACV helped somewhat but I can’t take it anymore because it gives me stomach pain. Ive found probiotics like culturelle and renewlife help, also had some success with store bought coconut water kefir a few years back but now it makes me constipated. I still plan to try making my own. I want to try the restricted diet I know my gut reacts positively and safely to along with probiotics (and hopefully slippery elm) but I worry how long
