‘This is a complete attack’: At least 31 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced this session in Mississippi

Wait. Did anyone actually read the article and the bills being referenced? They’re bills that stop minors from receiving off label drugs to block puberty and make an age of consent of 21 to receive gender changing surgeries. I don’t see how that’s inherently bad. We don’t allow children to buy alcohol and tobacco, so why would we allow them to permanently alter their bodies in ways they may deeply regret in the future? Wouldn’t it be prudent to limit that access to adults who have a more cogent decision making ability? I fully expect to be downvoted and derided in this sub for bringing up these points, but they are legitimate questions that deserve serious consideration.
