I am a Christian.
The thing about Christianity is, it's a very personal, intimate relationship. So there is a God, who man betrayed Him for sin. The whole bible is the story of God trying to bring his people back to him because he loves us so much. And Man constantly fails him, yet God keeps pursuing us. Then he sends his own son to die on the cross. Jesus took on our pain, the pain that we have to live with daily whether it be emotional, physical, mental. Therefore he understands us because he suffered too. When Jesus returned to heaven, the Holy Sprit was sent down to live in the souls of people who believe Jesus died for them.
So now here I am, a human being with a permanent Holy Spirit living inside of me. It guides me, loves me, protects me. I can live in this world full of evil and hate with this constant throbbing love that dwells from my soul. It's my energy so to speak and what helps me keep going in this dark world. This type of love is not the kind of love that the world gives, because we are ALL broken. No one on this earth can give the love that the Holy Spirit can.
So the reason why I am not an atheist is because I am guided by the Holy Spirt in my day to day life. This type of guidance, the world will never experience. I guess what I am trying to say is, the proof that I have is the way the Holy Sprit works with me. It is literally a sprit, a living thing inside of me. It's beautiful. It's tangible for the most part.
Also, with all the things going on in the world I am at peace. It's like my feet are planted on the ground while there is s hurricane around me. I also cannot fight sin by myself because temptation is really hard to deal with, With the help of the spirit I can stay the path.
Christianity is a very personal religion that teaches individualism and not so much group think. It is your choice to accept Jesus. No one can ever do it for you. Therefore you can't blame anyone. You are molded into the person you ought to be in your personal time with the bible and prayer. And the thing is Jesus' love....man I have yet to experience that love from anyone else in this world. Atheism will never know the love that Jesus can give.
