What is the most excruciating pain you have ever been in, and how did you get to that point?

After a mountaineering injury damaged my back I ended up in the ER. Could barely walk and was sure what was wrong but it was bad.

The nurse dropped me while he was transferring me out of the wheel chair. Onto my damaged lower back. It felt like an ice pick was shoved into my spine and it was 11/10 white out incoherent screaming levels of pain.

I've had numerous other injuries over my exciting life, some which are usually labeled 10/10 on the pain scale. This surpassed them all. After the screaming stopped I cried for an hour and wouldn't let my wife drive me home because any bump was agony. The hospital sent me home without an apology insisting it's "just a pulled muscle". Yeah I don't go to that hospital anymore.
