Is this contam? There's no smell. I just forgot about these bags for a few weeks. The other bags all look fine.

The bag was already inoculated, and it fully colonized.

You inoculate the grain, not the substrate. I'm mixing the colonized grain with substrate at this step.

As someone pointed out it's probably metabolites. It's been fully colonized for a few weeks to long.

At this stage the mycelium has fully grown and actually has a bit of an immune system. It can fight a lot of stuff off. Mycelium is pretty territorial too.

It's also going to be exposed to air from this point onward anyway, so as long as your substrate is pasteurized, you're good.

I handle it at this stage with my bare hands to break up all the mycelium to mix with the CVG anyway.I've done this dozens and dozens of times, with success.

I was asking about the color of the grains. I just haven't let bags sit for this long before, but that bags been sent. If it's metabolites, it will be just fine. I'll know in a couple weeks.
