Corey Olsen (aka the Tolkien Professor), who founded the school that has a masters degree program in Tolkien Studies and where many Tolkien scholars teach at (including Tom Shippey), saw the premiere of Rings of Power and found it to be faithful to Tolkien and stated that he 'really enjoyed it'.

Imagine telling people your show isn't influenced by modern politics, then using Stephen Colbert to interview your cast.

You do realize that Stephen Colbert doesn't just talk about politics, right? He interviews tons of talent from upcoming movies, that's just the nature of his show. It's not inherently political when it's pop culture focused.

Never mind how some cast members insultingly don't even match their descriptions.

Yeah, fuck Viggo Mortensen for having a beard. Didn't he know that Tolkien specifically said Aragorn does not have a beard?

How terrible the line delivery is in some of the newest trailers.

Dialogue in trailers are often filmed specifically for the trailers, left on the cutting room floor, or missing context. You can't effectively judge the writing from the dialogue in trailers.

You're not even getting paid to do the cleanup job for them, so I wouldn't fight this hard. People will continue to voice their opinions and you can't stop that.

I'm not telling people to stop voicing their opinions. I'm voicing my opinions. The fact that you see me voicing my opinion as trying to muzzle you is interesting. You guys can continue on this outrage/rush to judgement train if you like, but we are allowed to criticize you for it.

I'm not interested, and I will keep discussing it.

That's fine. Seems like you are more concerned with politics than Lord of the Rings, which makes it a wonder why you are on this sub in the first place. But okay, you do you.
