I noticed it said after the year 1000AD, yet lord of the rings is supposed to be pre that. So actually you’re wrong. There wouldn’t of been black people at that time. And if there was, they would of been very very rare. What I find disturbing is we are now being told what our culture is and isn’t. I’m english, lord of the rings, was written for my people and my country. It’s ours first. This isn’t about race but about respecting culture. If this was a fantasy show set in the pre history Africa, and they put white people in those roles. It just wouldn’t look right. Yet the other way round and it’s completely fine. It’s this hypocrisy that it’s starting to annoy people. And actually if you was for black people, you’d recognise how stereotyped they are in media. That their cultures are not accurately shown, and whitewashed for mass consumption. Please take your morality else where. Lord of the rings is my countries culture. And just because I’m white and British, doesn’t mean I don’t have a right to see my culture respected.
