What i don't understand is i was promised.....

what you have to understand is that God is the only one who delights on making and keeping His promises,

whatever people are telling you, you should always take it with a grain of salt (pun intended :D)

i think what God is trying to tell you is to change the restaurant, and tell the new guys there from the start that your plan/dream is to become a chef and your investing in yourself to become a chef, and ask them how will they help you become one, and try multiple places,

in the book Greenlights, Matthew says that his mother told him before a job interview "when you go in there walk like you own the place, and not like you wanna buy it"
