COVID denialism and policy clarifications

When the vaccination started, I was in favor of vaccines. After some months, I saw these side-effects in my friends (including death) and I started feeling great horror. Even if I am a scientist (this month I am starting a PhD in computational genomics), I am scared of all this censorship, it makes me doubtful and this makes me to understand 100% people who refuse to do the vaccines and they are not scientists. The past week I did my second dose, and I think everyday that I will die. I love science, but I always remembered science as something that everybody was open for discussion.

Btw the past month I was on a non-linear dynamics conference, and when one of the scientists said that "these mRNA vaccines were discovered 40 years ago" (and it is truth), the conference leaders stopped him and told him "we had the mRNA vaccines, but we didn't have them for Covid-19" and then they said it again more loudly.

May ask you a question? If there are still scientists in the world that feel fear, even this fear is incorrect and can confuse people, why we can't accept the fact that it is a controversial subject and just discuss it. And after the discussion, the people maybe will understand better in which circumstances they must do the vaccine and in which they should not.

But ok, I understand Reddit is a place to post memes for cats, it is not a place for serious conversations.
